The versatile and efficient BDL-1250/9D drill line combines Siemens high-tech electronics, high performance carbide drilling and sophisticated feedback technology. In a normal 40-hour working week it processes more than 200 tonnes of structural steel, making it the ideal solution for large fabricators.

The BDL-1250/9D offers an extremely powerful clamping system for carbide drilling and an impressive spindle speed of 1,800 rpm. Integrating modern technologies such as air mist cooling, dedicated spindle motors, carbide part marking, Smart Spindle II technology and automatic roller feed measurement has produced this industry-leading drill line.

High speed carbide drillingThe drill units of the BDL-1250/9D are powered by 18.5 kW Siemens servo motors. With powerful drill spindles covering a speed range of 145 to 1,800 rpm, the BDL-1250/9D achieves extremely fast processing times for drilling, tapping, countersinking and scribing with carbide tools.
Nine spindles for continuous operationThe three drill units of the BDL-1250/9D work simultaneously or independently, so holes of different sizes can be drilled on three planes with individual speeds and feeds.

Sturdy clamping to eliminate vibrationThe BDL-1250/9D clamping system ensures low-vibration material guidance through the machine. Keeping vibration to a minimum extends the life of carbide tools.
Breakthrough detection for faster drillingOptional breakthrough detection speeds up the process by reducing spindle run time to a minimum. Once breakthrough is detected automatically, the spindle retracts immediately and moves to the next drilling position in the part program. With carbide tooling and breakthrough detection, the BDL-1250/9D achieves record times processing beams, channels, angle, tube and flat bar.
Band saw integrationWith powerful material handling, accurate measurement and high operating speed, the BDL-1250/9D high performance drill line is ideally suited for tandem installation with any of the automatic Peddinghaus sawing systems.
AccuMeasure allows complete handling controlSaw measurement is available via the Peddinghaus AccuMeasure roller feed measurement system. AccuMeasure is a streamlined CNC solution that provides complete flexibility in material flow. Tandem systems are not always the ideal solution for maximum throughput. Separating the drill and the saw lets each machine work continuously, minimising waiting time between the individual automated processes.
Raptor 3D CAD/CAM softwareDeveloped by Peddinghaus, Raptor 3D CAD/CAM software enables users to program faster and more accurately. Review, modify and export part information directly within the 3D platform. Combined with Peddinghaus CNC technology, fabricators can get the maximum capacity out of their equipment.
